Another rumor that I heard is that Uber will eventually buy Lyft. I heard lyft is in financial trouble which is why it reduced rates and lowered referral bonuses.

Casey Loewen I don't think this is unreasonable to post this. After all, lyft has a habit of informing drivers of all policy changes well after the fact. Ridiculing the op for sharing is lame in my opinion.

Casey Loewen Also Lyft put a stop to airport drop offs in SD by deactivating drivers if they do, so Rex your plan may not be effective if you still want to drive for lyft.

Rex Campbell I thought drop off ls were ok? I don't drive in SD and it wouldn't be an issue.

In the Unfortunate event that I get deactivated by Lyft I would still have Uber. Uber is always busier for me and I have another job.

It really wouldn't affect me too much

Casey Loewen Currently in SD drop offs and pick ups are a no go. The way lyft enforces this is with a geo fence around the airport. If you go into this area while in driver mode 3 times you get booted.

Lauren Tropp I hope so as well. I know if we can get LA, others will follow. There may just be more involved in being able to do pickups. Namely fingerprinting and drug testing. That is perfectly fine by me.

Ismael Morales If SFO was done, why not the rest? And yes I rather have the facts, especially directly from the LA Airport Commission than even Lyft.

Yeah differences of opinions are valid, but let's get along Ya'll! Besides, if I was a pax I would care about rides to LAX and as a driver as well.

Rex Campbell As a pax I would just place the pin outside, call the driver, and tell him I'm at the airport, I'll sit in from and act like his friend.

Casey Loewen As a driver though you know when you get to the pin he isn't there. Then he calls you and tells you he's at the airport. Then you either tell him to walk to you or call Uber, those are really your only two choices down here.

Casey Loewen There is a lot more at play here than what a passenger wants or a driver wants. Lyft has been thumbing their nose at the airports for quite some time now and the reason they aren't allowed in San Diego is because it is part of a settlement reached with the DA. Now they plead their case after months of encouraging drivers to directly break the law and violate airport agreements in place for various reasons, money, traffic, and safety. This is the strategy by Lyft. Will it work? We shall see, but it sure seems like a stupid way to negotiate...
