Sherwin Ngo's job title: recruiter
Talk about catfished: A 34-year-old Tustin man who allegedly posed as a woman to lure two teen boys via Craigslist personal ads was taken into custody at an Irvine financial institution where he works and booked into Orange County Jail on Friday.
Sherwin Ngo, who'd been arrested on suspicion of committing lewd acts on a child, later posted bond and was released from custody.
The mother of a 15-year-old boy in Irvine found explicit email's on his tablet computer, which led to the police investigation that resulted in Ngo's arrest, according to Commander Julia Engen, the Irvine Police spokeswoman.
The same investigation uncovered a 16-year-old Mission Viejo boy who was also victimized, said Engen, who added detectives believe there may be more based on the large number of emails discovered when Ngo's accounts were searched.
Ngo may be a natural; his job at the financial firm is "recruiter."
The department is reaching out to the public in case others believe they were among the victims, most of whom were lured to Ngo's home, according to Engen. Call Irvine Police at 714.724.7200 if this applies to you or someone you know.
